Arizona Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Courses

State Proctor/Monitor Requirements:

• For Arizona insurance continuing education self-study course exams must be physically monitored by a CE provider or a designee of the provider who is a licensed AZ producer and you may refer to the course material as often as you need to complete the exam.

AZ Insurance Continuing Education Online Renewal Requirements:

• 20 hours if license term is 1-2 years
• 40 hours if license term is greater than 2 years

Arizona requires all CE certificate(s) be mailed.

State Specific (required) Courses:

• Long Term Care Training Requirement: Long-term care continuing training establishes 2 year LTCT periods, starting July 1, 2009. Beginning July 1, 2009, in order to sell, solicit or negotiate long-term care insurance, an individual insurance producer must:
  • Be licensed with the "Accident and Health or Sickness" line of authority;
• Have completed 8 hours of initial long- term care training ("initial LTCT").
  • An insurance producer who completes initial LTCT prior to July 1, 2009, will continue to be able to sell, solicit and negotiate long-term care insurance after July 1, 2009. This producer will need to complete 4 hours of continuing LTCT within the first two-year LTCT period thereafter.
  • An insurance producer who has not completed the initial LTCT prior to July 1, 2009, shall be prohibited from selling, soliciting or negotiating long-term care insurance starting July 1, 2009, until the producer completes initial LTCT. This producer must complete the initial (8 hr) LTCT and then the 4 hours of continuing LTCT in each two-year LTCT period thereafter.
• Flood Training Requirement: All Arizona licensed resident insurance producers who sell federal flood insurance policies are required to complete a one time 3 hour flood insurance requirement.

Arizona Insurance CE License Renewal Timelines:

• License renewal date is the last day of the agent's birth month, every 2 or 4 years.
