Connecticut Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Courses

State Proctor/Monitor Requirements:

• Exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party for Connecticut insurance continuing education.

CT Insurance Continuing Education Online Renewal Requirements:

• 24 hours every two years
• CT Life and Health Insurance License agents – 6 Life and Health, 3 LRE, 15 Optional
• Property and Casualty agents – 6 Property and Casualty (one time 3 hours of Flood required), 3 LRE, 15 Optional
• Life and Health AND Property and Casualty License - 6 Life and Health, 6 Property and Casualty (one time 3 hours of Flood required), 3 LRE, 9 Optional

State Specific (required) Courses:

• At least 6 hours must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
• Insurance Law & Regulation or Ethics Requirement: All CT Insurance CE agents are required to complete 3 hours of Insurance Law & Regulation or 3 hours of Ethics every 2 years.
• Long Term Care: Individuals who sell long-term care policies under the Connecticut Partnership Long-Term Care Program must complete a one time 7 hour training program sponsored by the Connecticut Partnership. Those completing the course will earn 8 hours of continuing education credit which may be applied to the overall 24 hour requirement.
• Flood Requirement: All Connecticut insurance CE agents who have property and casualty and personal lines authority must complete a one-time 3-hour flood insurance course.

Connecticut Insurance CE License Renewal Timelines:

• The compliance date is the agent's birthday every 2 years.
