New Jersey Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Courses

State Proctor/Monitor Requirements:

• Exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party for New Jersey insurance continuing education.

NJ Insurance Continuing Education Online Renewal Requirements:

• 48 hours of New Jersey insurance CE Hours required every 2 years. 24 of these credits need to be in the authorities for which the producer is licensed and an additional six credits in approved courses related to insurance fraud and professional ethics. (as of 1/1/07)
• Requirements for license issued or renewed after 01/01/2007: 24 hours every 2 years, including 3 hours of ethics.

State Specific (required) Courses:

• Agents can take courses from either New Jersey life insurance continuing education or Property and Casualty to complete their CE.
• Fraud and Professional Ethics Requirement: All agents are required to complete 3 hours of Fraud and Professional Ethics every 2 years. (6 hours if finishing a 4 year renewal)
• Flood Requirement: All agents who sell federal flood insurance policies must complete a 3 hour flood insurance course.

New Jersey Insurance CE License Renewal Timelines:

  January - March:	1/31
  April - June:	4/30
  July - September:	7/31
  October - December:	10/31

• Licensed or renewed after 01/01/07:
  License will renew on the last day of the producers birth month every other year.
